The Rockhampton Aero Club operates an Elite Synthetic Trainer. This training device allows students and local pilots to practice their flying in an excellent reproduction of the aircraft they actually fly. There are lots of different single engine
and multi engine aircraft to choose from, ranging from the Cessna 172 up to the Beechcraft Baron and Beech King Air. This is an excellent way to practice IFR approaches and cross-country instrument flying.
With advanced controls for our instructors to use, we are able to train you in all weather types, emergency procedures including instrument and engine failures as well as icing
and basic and advanced instrument flying.
You can practice any approach, any time of day, anywhere in the eastern states of Australia!
Our primary focus with the synthetic trainer is to revolutionise the methods in place for IFR training. When undertaking an IFR course with us, you can expect around 17 hours in the simulator where you will practice all the approaches, procedures and emergencies associated with IFR flight before getting into the aircraft and all at a fraction of the cost of flying the actual aircraft.
Students can record all the flight time they conduct in the synethic trainer in their logbook and we can even save or print a record of the flight including your flight path and profile!
